Lust of Rome is a 3D adult visual novel with a light management loop, set in an old hill keep on the northern frontier of the Roman Empire.

You play as a legionary discharged after ten years as the best sword in his cohort, and the empire's reward is a crumbling stone keep and a purse of 500 denarii. A trained gladiator costs four times that, so you buy the fighters no dealer bothers to price for the arena, three women off the block, and train them with your own hands.

The town laughs until they start winning. After that, the three rival lanistae of the district stop laughing and start looking for ways to get you struck off the Games list, while the noise your fighters make in the arena brings women to your door who would never have looked at you before.

Cassia, a village woman who arrives furious and silent and learns faster than anyone you've ever trained.

Aurelia, a brigand who argues about everything, wins now and fights like she has nothing left to lose.

Nysa, a sharp-tongued Greek with a past nobody believes, who reads a ledger better than the men who keep them.

Each day you take one action: spar with one of your fighters in the yard yourself, or put her name on the arena board and choose how she fights, whether that's careful, bold or for the crowd. Each night you send for one woman and she comes to your room. Every one of them warms to you at her own pace over five stages, from standing wary by the door to sharing your bed.

There's no calendar to race, no permadeath and no game over on any difficulty. Free Roam offers three: Easy, Ludus and Lanista, which adds real money pressure. If you only want the story, Story Mode plays itself, with no menus and no money to manage, and you just choose the ending.

Win the Municipal Games and take the palm, earn a patron, survive your rivals' sabotage and raise the stake for the final games in the capital, where all three of your fighters walk onto the sand together. When it's over, you choose how the story ends.
